Elite Australian Alpaca

Elite Australian Alpaca is a family owned and run business on a farm south of Canberra ACT. The Alpacas are shorn onsite with the award winning fleece being spun by a local mill. My Grandmother and Aunties are responsible for lovingly creating these beautiful handmade garments for you.

The alpacas at Elite Australian Alpaca are bred under strict biosecurity protocols so you can be confident that these garments are from animals that are well looked after and top quality. 

ALL NATURAL -No dyes or other chemicals- no blending with synthetic fibres.

Alpaca fleece is a lustrous and silky natural light- weight fibre, similar to sheep’s wool, but warmer and not prickly, and bears no lanolin, which makes it hypoallergenic and very suitable for allergy sufferers to wear next to the skin. It has a fibre structure that protects it from abrasion and gives it high durability, tensile strength and resistance to pilling and shrinking.

One of the many fabulous characteristics of alpaca fleece is its array of natural colours, ranging from white through shades of cream, fawn, apricot and brown to a wonderful variety of greys and black – the only commercial natural fibre that is truly black.

If items are in stock, they are as pictured. If they are on back order, they are custom made and can be made in any natural colours.
